This is the reaction of many starting to play. They set out full of enthusiasm, only to see their fleet fall apart at their feet and the enemy capturing their planets. This is not an encouraging start and i presume some people play the game once and throw it away (like the reviewers at PC ZONE perhaps...).
The game itself is based loosely around the Star Wars trilogy (and if you don't know what they are then why did you buy the game?), and puts you in command of either the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire and all their resources. Your objectives are as follows:
Galactic Empire:
Capture Mon Mothma - the Rebels' leader
AND
Capture Luke Skywalker - the last Jedi Knight
Both these characters are caught whenyou capture a planet where they are hiding, or by an abduction mission.
AND ALSO
Destroy the Rebel Headquaters
The Rebel HQ is hard to find, it starts on a totally random planet. I have found that the computer tends to locate it on the outermost planet of a rim system.
Rebel Alliance:
Capture The Emperor - the head of the Empire, surprisingly
AND
Capture Darth Vader - The Emperor's right hand man
AND ALSO
Capture Coruscant - the planet from which the Empire is run, located in the Sesswena sector.
The Headquaters Game:
The easiest and quickest game to play is called a HQ victory. This is selceted by clicking on the dome shaped icon in the middle of the cockpit before the game begins. Chosing this means that the victor is the one who captures the other's HQ first. The Rebels have an advantage in this game, in the face that they know where Coruscant is; so if you want a quick victory play this game as the rebels and storm coruscant with your forces when the time is right.
A Bonus for the Empire is that they can fortify Coruscant immensly and station a fleet there that will easily overwhelm the rebels.
The Full Game:
When selecting the full game, all the objectives disscussed above come into force. Here the Rebels have a greater advantage in the Maximum size galaxy (because they can hide far away from the Empire), the Empire in the smallest (because the rebels are much easier to find!).
Now when you have decided what type of game to play, then proceed to the next section: Your aides and Characters.
